Trying out ‘Rudeboy 7A’ back in font, some really dirty slopers on here and that last move with a pop makes the whole line pretty nutty.

Taking a bit of a break from climbing and photography as it felt like it was becoming a chore. I always wanted OpenCrag to be a more social thing but it just turned into my story of climbing with the people I love which is great. But when it starts to feel forced to upload because of how social media works it removes a lot of my drive for self improvement, I find myself taking the easy way out and that a big no no for me.

Probably one of the hardest top outs of recent memory, think its just those font warm glassy tops with nothing but big old slopers. I mean, you can see the picture I’m just doing a push up basically, on greasy hot nothing.

Think it’s time to get back into training for that winter grit! gonna be working a ton of sloper related training, last time we went out we worked on Tetris over at the roaches and it felt pretty good, that and little northumberland means we’re gonna have a busy winter.

Got our man Archie sending that line that seals the addiction on climbing, that pure euphoria feeling you get topping out your project. I was saying to Archie after he sent this and we waddled on back to the others how climbing is so much more a journey of discovery than anything. It’s the double edged sword of just being a rock in the middle of no where, it means nothing to anyone but you. Its the sort of primal drive of conquering and becoming one with nature, bit hippy but I think it’s why most of us have that admiration for the great outdoors.

Getting super close on Tentation – f7A last week at font, really love prow climbs, always have such unique holds on them, like this was two mini tufas while chucking a high heel up and to the right. Gnarly moves and a real worth while climb; one to come back too.

Archie Butler getting his font slap on. Archie’s absolutely smashed it this trip, our first day here was his 3rd ever outdoor climbing session. I’m pretty sure that means Archie’s climbed more in font than anywhere in the world; what a place to learn.

His aim in the next 2 days is to smash out his first f6A, and hopefully on the last day he’ll smash ‘Chien assis 6A’. That would completely top off his trip, even if he doesn’t; watching him battle up L’ectoplasme was an absolute inspiration.
