flashback to our man Marcus Byczkowski’s first day outdoors at the roaches.

We jumped on Tetris the other day and it didn’t seem too bad, even with muggy conditions, just waiting on that feeling now.

This shot was actually taken by my mum about 6 months ago on a weekend when we got back from a lil sketchy climbing trip, just to catch up. I think she’s a better photographer than any of us here!

The climb is Staffordshire Flyer V4/6B up at Doxy’s pool in the roaches. Really good classic line, leading out to the face with a dyno and cool finishing move. Due to the position of an awkward puddle it lead for my mum to keep laughing at me doing my best ape walk impression while I tried to avoid getting wet feet.

Finishing up Nadin’s Traverse Stairs extension – V7/7A+ at what feels like our local crag. Definitely our closest grit crag and the one I personally have climbed at the most.

It’s always great when you go to your favorite crag for the 100th time thinking you’ve climbed everything then just find extensions and eliminates to problems that you committed so much time to all those years back. Its crazy how well your brain remembers certain moves or micro positions you put yourself in to get that little extra on the final send.

Shot a couple months ago over at the roaches. Doxey’s pool, right on past the upper tier and on the way to the skyline. Such a beautiful place; the pool is special because it never dries up. They say it has something to do with aqueducts running throughout the area.

Next week myself Metzger and will shall be heading up the the lake district for a week of climbing. As always if anyone’s around, don’t be afraid to hit us up with any recommendations.
